Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in an action entertainer, O Romeo. And today, the makers released the much-awaited trailer. Well, during the trailer launch event, director Vishal Bhardwaj finally opened
up about the long delay behind this project. Hr spoke about the creative struggles, pauses, and other things that kept the film on hold for years.
During the trailer launch event, Vishal Bhardwaj revealed reason why he took 10 years to make O Romeo. He said, “10 kyun lage…kyunki jab maine iss kahani ke right liye the 3 saal tak maine isko banne ki koshish hi nai ki the..3-4 saal. Jab maine banana ki koshish ke tab ismein protagonist koi aur hua karta tha.. jab aap dekhenge tab pata chalege..bahot time tak mere liye stale hoti chali gaye. Bahot directors ne mujhse aake story manage, aap banana nai rahe hai aap hume de dijiye. Main itna possessive tha iss kahani ko leke maine nai de. Aur isiliye yeh journey aisi..I think yeh film jitne budget mein bane hai utni mere hasiyat nai hai as a director. Utna paisa nai hai. This is Sajid bhai’s conviction in me and in the project. Uske bajwood mere pass itna paisa nai tha jo iska budget tha.. mere haisyat se zayda tha aur yeh increase hota chala gaya. Yeh maine nai increase kiya yeh Sajid bhai ne bhadhya. Humne 1 rupee mein 5 rupees ki film banne ki koshish ki hai. Yeh sabne realise ki hai koi bhi film aapse aake khud ko banvati hai. Aap kitni bhi koshish kar lo vo film nai bante hai.. Yeh film ne laake aapne aapko humse banavaya hai. Nai toh yeh film aise bani hi nai sakti the, film ki journey aisi ho nai sakti the. kitni bhi mushkil aaye..iss film ko jaise banana tha waise banvaya. Ek paise ka, ek percent ka compromise kisi bhi cheez mein nai hua. Toh yeh ek special film mere liye hai kyunki mujhe nai believe hota tha aise bhi hoga.”

About O Romeo
O Romeo marks Vishal Bhardwaj’s reunion with Shahid after over eight years. The two previously worked together on films like Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017). The film is also Triptii Dimri’s debut collaboration with Vishal and Shahid. Apart from Shahid and Triptii, the cast also includes Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, Farida Jalal, and Tamannaah Bhatia. O Romeo is scheduled to hit theatres on February 13, 2026.
