Govinda’s manager has revealed that the actor has recently been receiving several death threats. He recounted a recent incident where unidentified attackers almost targeted Govinda at his own home, but
the actor was able to escape unharmed because he had a gun and his phone with him.
Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, told ANI, “He keeps getting threat calls. Thank god he had a gun with him the day he got attacked. He chased everyone away. Otherwise god knows what would’ve happened to him. I rushed to him at 4 am. We also filed an FIR. We also have a video of what happened that night.”
While Sinha didn’t specify which incident, he also mentioned how Govinda recently got hurt in an act of self-defence. For the unversed, Govinda made headlines in 2024 after he accidentally shot himself while cleaning his revolver. While police ruled out the possibility of foul play, several rumours around the incident started gaining traction.
In a heartfelt voice note recorded from his hospital bed, Govinda assured his fans that he was on the mend. He expressed gratitude to his supporters and the medical staff for their critical care.
“Namaskar, pranaam, main hoon Govinda, aap sab logon ke aashirwad aur maa-baap ka aashirwad, guru ki kripa ke wajah se goli lagi thi par woh nikaal di gayi hai. Main dhanyavad deta hoon yahan ke doctor ka, aadarniya doctor Agarwal ji ka aur aap sab logon ki prarthana jo hai, aap logon ka dhanyavad, pranaam,” the actor had said.
Meanwhile, Shashi also mentioned that Govinda is looking at scripts to make a comeback. “A number of projects have been aligned, keeping him busy. There was a time when Govinda left projects worth crores in a year. Today, it is fine if he doesn’t like a script,” he said.
“That’s different. Many producers and even actors have been reaching out to him with offers, even though he has not had a single hit in recent times. He is just waiting for the right offer,” Sinha said. As per reports, the actor will announce a project in the upcoming days.
