Large parts of Bengaluru are likely to face water supply disruption today and tomorrow, December 17 and 18, as the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) carries out emergency repair work on the Cauvery
5th Stage water supply system.
According to BWSSB, a valve in the 3,000 mm diameter transmission line under the Cauvery 5th Stage has developed a major leak. Repair work is being undertaken on Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. During this period, water supply will be partially or fully disrupted in areas dependent on this stage of Cauvery water.
BWSSB officials said the repairs are necessary to prevent further damage to the pipeline and ensure stable supply in the coming days.
What Residents Should Expect
Residents in affected localities may experience no water supply, low pressure, or delayed water release throughout the day. Normal supply is expected to resume gradually after the completion of repair work, though some areas may see delays as pipelines and storage tanks are refilled.
Apartment complexes and gated communities have been advised to manage available water carefully and make alternate arrangements, including water tankers, if required.
