Farah Khan and Farhan Akhtar, film directors and cousins, turned one year older on January 9. The two celebrated their birthdays together around midnight at home. This morning, many of their industry friends
poured in birthday wishes for them. Among them, Sonam Kapoor specially wished both of them.
Sonam first shared an old picture of herself with Farah and wished her. Next, she also shared a picture with Farhan Akhtar. Last night, the cousins were seen cutting their birthday cakes while their relatives sang a birthday song. Zoya Akhtar, a filmmaker, shared a photo from the celebration as well as a touching statement wishing them a happy birthday. While Farah turns 61 today, Farhan Akhtar celebrates his 52nd birthday. Zoya Akhtar took to Instagram to wish Farah and Farhan Akhtar. The first shot is an old picture of the two. In the childhood shot, the cousins can be seen cheerfully dancing together. Meanwhile, Zoya tweeted a video of Farah and Farhan cutting their birthday cake together at midnight. In her heartfelt note, Zoya explained the meaning behind their names and wrote, “Farah means Happiness and Farhan means Happy No two people could have truer names Love You Capri-9 @faroutakhtar @farahkhankunder Happiest Birthday.”

How Are Farah Khan and Farhan Akhtar Related?
Farah Khan and Farhan Akhtar are relatives. Farah’s mother, Menaka Irani, and Farhan’s mother, Honey Irani, are sisters; hence, the two filmmakers belong to the same family. Both have established successful careers in the Hindi cinema industry on their own.
Farah Khan, who choreographed some of Bollywood’s most renowned songs, eventually turned to directing, with her maiden film Main Hoon Na (2004) becoming a success. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Zayed Khan, Amrita Arora, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty and others. This was followed by Om Shanti Om (2007) and others.
Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar made news a few days ago as allegations surfaced that Ranveer Singh had withdrawn from Farhan’s highly anticipated flick Don 3. However, neither the actor nor the production team have officially confirmed this.
