Even after decades in cinema, Amitabh Bachchan continues to reflect on what keeps him going every single day. The veteran star, who remains as active as ever, recently shared a glimpse into his thoughts
on routine, discipline, and why staying engaged still matters deeply to him.
Known for his consistency and unmatched work ethic, Bachchan has often used his personal blog to open up about life beyond the camera. In his latest post, he revisited the idea of work being central to human existence, adding a personal and slightly philosophical touch to the conversation.
He wrote, “I was able to observe from a dear working colleague, that the early morning hours are the best time for creative thinking. Great. Works for creative individuals ! What of those non-creative ones like me , moi , मैं, मला , mich ( errmm a bit of the French, Marathi, German )?”
Expanding on that thought, the actor stressed that staying active—mentally and physically—is key, especially at his age. He continued, “Work be the essence of life .. have work will travel .. not to some adventurous destination .. travel forward in life .. so work .. work to get a living – work on your body – whatever, but work ..Work on the body is prime at this age .. so I was thinking what an incredible manufacturer, was, of the making of the human body .. it is impossible to even begin imagining .. I thought .. of a few on this .. but shall put them up another day ..”
This isn’t the first time Bachchan has spoken about his attachment to work. In an earlier blog entry from February, he had underlined how important it is for him to remain occupied. “Work efforts slowly fructifying and hope that one can be occupied in the time of work .. it is essential .. absence of work has detrimental feelings , and so work work work .. till you can,” he said.
Beyond films, the actor has also maintained a strong connection with television audiences. He most recently hosted the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2025. While wrapping up the season, Bachchan shared an emotional note reflecting on his long journey with the show. He said, “Sometimes, we live a moment so deeply and get so lost in it that when it reaches its final point, it feels as though it had just begun, and yet it is ending so soon. Everything feels like it happened just yesterday. I am about to begin the last day of this game, going through these emotions. I’ve spent one-third of my life…more than one-third of my life, with all of you, and it has been a great privilege.”
On the film front, Bachchan was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The sci-fi drama, which also featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, turned out to be a massive commercial success, crossing ₹1,000 crore globally. Bachchan’s portrayal of Ashwatthama received widespread appreciation.
He is currently busy shooting for the sequel to the film, continuing a career that shows no signs of slowing down—even at 83.
