Bhumi Pednekar recently talked about a concerning experience she had this morning while flying between countries for work. She revealed how the lack of civic sense among the travellers led to a three-hour
delay in her flight to Gaza. In a video, she explained how a man who wasn’t even a passenger on the flight triggered a security protocol and caused inconvenience to all passengers.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Bhumi Pednekar shared a video explaining a concerning experience she had this morning. She says in the video, “We had a crazy morning, so Richa and I are flying to Gaza for some Backbay work.” For the context, Backbay is a premium, sustainable beverage brand launched in August 2025 by the Bollywood actress and her sister, entrepreneur Samiksha Pednekar.

Bhumi Pednekar Reveals How A “Silly Joke” Caused Her Flight’s 3-Hour Delay
The actress continues, “Now, when we were boarding our flight, this guy was kind of misbehaving with the on-ground staff. And he wasn’t even a passenger on our flight. You know, the on-ground staff has to like call out, find a call, blah blah blah, whatever. He keeps getting triggered. He’s like, why are you disturbing me? We kind of laughed about it, and we entered.”
“And 10 minutes after we were deboarded, there was a security threat. And we later found out the same guy, who wasn’t even a passenger on our flight, thought it was funny to kind of scream that there was a bomb on that flight, etc. And obviously, Indigo had to call a protocol and take all the security measures that it had to and kudos to them for doing that. But he wasted three hours, and I’m sure there was a massive economic impact,” she adds.
In an overlaying text on the video, she also writes, “Crazy morning. Woke up at 5 am for an 8:45 am flight. Cause of a silly joke or a loose statement some irresponsible man made, we were delayed by 3 hours. I’m told hoax calls/jokes like this happen often. We really need more civic sense. Kudos to @indigo.6e for following protocol and making the re-boarding process easy. Finally reached (folded hands emoji).”
