Manasi Hodavdekar, a biker from Mumbai, shared a video on Instagram describing a “creepy” incident she experienced while riding her bike one evening. The incident happened when she stopped at a traffic
crossing.
Manasi, in her Instagram account ‘thelazysoul’, said two men on another bike approached her and began speaking to her. At first, their comments seemed harmless, as they said her bike was good and that she was riding well. However, she said the remarks later became uncomfortable.
Manasi said one of the men asked her, “Ghar kaha hai aapka” (Where do you live). At the moment, she did not clearly hear the question and only noticed murmuring, which she chose to ignore.
Her Instagram post reads, “I was navigating my way through traffic when this man came in. Initially, it was fine—‘bike achi hai, acha chala rahi ho’. But later, he made a few unwanted remarks. Honestly, when he said ‘ghar kaha hai aapka’, I couldn’t hear him in the moment. I only realised it later while reviewing the footage. At the time, all I could hear was him murmuring, which I chose to ignore. Agar tab suna hota… reaction toh banta tha”
She later realised what was said while reviewing the footage. She wrote that if she had heard it clearly at the time, her reaction would have been different.
Social media reactions
The post drew reactions from social media users. One man commented, “Not all men but always a MAN!!!”
Another user suggested a stronger verbal response, writing that she should have said she could also punch if needed. “U should say – bhai mukka bhi sahi jad deti hu,” read his post.
