A small Maggi stall at a tourist spot is making people rethink regular office jobs. A video shared by a man has gone viral after he showed how much money can be made by selling a popular snack item for
just one day. As part of an experiment, he set up a simple stall at a busy travel location, somewhere in the mountains and started serving Maggi to visitors. The response was quick, as within three to four hours, he sold around 200 plates.
He charged Rs 70 for plain Maggi and Rs 100 for cheese Maggi. By the end of the day, he claimed to have sold nearly 300 to 350 plates. Even after basic costs like gas, cups and ingredients, his earnings touched a whopping Rs 21,000 for the day. The video left many social media users surprised. Some even said that selling Maggi every day for a month can bring in lakhs.
Maggi Stall Earnings Challenge Corporate Jobs
Sharing the video on Instagram, the man wrote, “Today, we will see how much money can be made by selling Maggi in the mountains for one day. People come from faraway places just to eat mountain Maggi. Maggi, which is supposed to be ready in two minutes, was taking almost ten minutes because customers had already started coming in. Plain Maggi was sold for Rs 70 and cheese Maggi for Rs 100. Soon, customers just kept coming without a break and it became clear how crazy people are about eating Maggi in the hills.”
“In such extreme cold, my hand was almost frozen. Still, I quickly opened another packet because the crowd did not stop. In just three to four hours, more than 200 Maggi plates were sold. While cooking and counting the money, we didn’t even realise when the water ran out. By night, around 300 to 350 Maggi plates were sold in a day. At Rs 70 per plate, selling 300 Maggi adds up to about Rs 21,000,” he added.

Monthly Earnings Could Exceed Rs 6 Lakh
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “From now on, a one-week trip means four days of sightseeing and three days of cooking Maggi, full value for money.”
Another shared, “It is seasonal work.”
“I hope people don’t litter,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “Looks like I’ll have to stop making fitness content and start cooking Maggi in the mountains instead.”
One more added, “No it’s not, see 300 packets total revenue is Rs 21000, so if 300 packets, *Rs 20 = 6000, then gas so Rs 500, then transportation of raw Maggi Rs 5000, so then Rs 9,500, then you have to hire one helper who will charge Rs 1000 per day, so last total profit will be 8000, still better than some degrees but struggles are real daily in -10 degree is hectic.”
Some users even did the math and said that if the stall earns Rs 21,000 a day, the monthly amount will be over Rs 6 lakh. Many pointed out that this is far more than what most people earn in regular corporate jobs.
