Two lines of Mumbai Metro were hit by major delays on Sunday evening, leaving several passengers stranded at Andheri West. The services were later restored.
The services of Mumbai Metro Yellow Line-2A (Dahisar
East–DN Nagar) and Red Line-7 (Dahisar East–Andheri East) were affected due to signaling issue, officials said.
According to Mid-Day, the incident left several passengers stranded at Andheri West with no movement of trains and little communication from Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited.
Several passengers took to social media to raise complaint regarding the issue. “Mumbai metro is stuck at Andheri West station from past 30 minutes,” a commuter posted on media platform X.
PTI quoted several others saying that there were delays even after services resumed as trains were operating at “slow pace”.
Another commuter, Jayesh Rane, told Mid-Day, “There has been chaos at Andheri West metro station and no proper communication by metro authorities.”
Following the incident, Maha Mumbai Metro Private Limited (MMRPL) said in an update on X that the services on both lines were restored.
