An FIR was registered in the case, and the police said preliminary investigation and examination of CCTV footage indicated that around 15 to 20 people associated with another coaching institute in Patna were allegedly involved in the attack.
The incident sparked tension in the Musallahpur Haat area of Patna. Security was tightened around the institute after the incident, with police personnel deployed through the night.
KHAN SIR CLAIMS FIRING TOOK PLACE
Educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, alleged after the incident that some “anti-social elements” attacked the coaching centre, assaulted the guard and even opened fire.
“Some anti-social elements from a nearby coaching created widespread damage, beat our guard badly and even fired gunshots. Their primary angst is how someone can teach students at such a low cost and still deliver thousands of results each year,” Khan Sir told reporters.
He was referring to the recently declared Bihar Police Recruitment examination results.
POLICE IDENTIFY SEVERAL SUSPECTS
Police said investigations were underway and raids were being conducted to apprehend those involved in the violence.
A statement issued by the City SP office said police received information around 10.10 pm on Tuesday regarding stone-pelting and vandalism at the institute.
A police team was immediately rushed to the spot.
Officials said 10 to 12 individuals had been identified so far in connection with the case.
SP City Diksha told ANI, “The individuals involved appear to be associated with the coaching centre located across the street. Everything is currently being verified, formal complaints are being recorded, and further proceedings are underway.”
“All video footage is being thoroughly scrutinised, and everything is being verified,” the officer added.
Police also confirmed that one injured person was undergoing treatment at a hospital.
STUDENTS GATHER OUTSIDE THE INSTITUTE
On Wednesday morning, a large crowd of students gathered outside Khan Sir’s coaching institute, demanding action against those responsible for the attack.
Visuals from the area showed heavy police deployment as students raised slogans seeking justice and security.
“We want justice. We want security,” one student told ANI outside the institute.
Khan Sir also appealed to students to remain calm and avoid any confrontation.
“This is a shameless act. I appeal to students not to indulge in any fight,” he said.
