The Telangana government is planning a brand-new greenfield highway that will cut down travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada to just two hours.
As per The New Indian Express, State Roads & Buildings
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy shared this exciting update during an inspection in Vanasthalipuram.
How Will LB Nagar Benefit?
One of the major projects in focus is a six-kilometre elevated corridor from LB Nagar to Pedda Amberpet. This Rs 650 crore project aims to ease traffic in this busy stretch. It will link directly to the Outer Ring Road (ORR), providing smoother access to Hayathnagar and beyond.
The minister also highlighted that Rs 541 crore was already secured for road work between LB Nagar and Malkapur during his MP tenure, and he now aims to finish all pending works without delay.
What About the Greenfield Highway?
Work is already underway on the Rs 2,300 crore Gauravelli-Valigonda-Bhadrachalam highway, with construction active on the Valigonda-Thorrur section. Tenders are being finalised for the rest of the route. A separate road costing Rs 375 crore from Andole Maisamma to Vijayawada is also progressing rapidly.
To make roads safer, the government has identified 17 accident-prone black spots that will be fixed on priority.
What’s Next for Metro and Rail Projects?
The minister will soon meet Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to fast-track approvals for Metro Phase-II and the Regional Ring Railway.
What About Healthcare?
Telangana’s healthcare scene is getting a boost too. The super-specialty TIMS Hospital in Sanathnagar will open this September. More such hospitals are coming up to provide corporate-level care to citizens.
