During her stint on the show, co-contestant Pooja Bhatt made a controversial remark about the TV actress, and Manisha has now reacted to it.
In a recent conversation, Manisha Rani was asked about Pooja Bhatt’s statement when the latter mentioned that the TV star “is not heroine material”. Reacting to the bold remarks, the winner of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 told FilmyGyan, “Yaar mujhe lagta hai ki unka woh statement unke according uss time (I think that statement of hers was based on her perception at that time).”

She continued, “Mtlb unhone mujhe nhi dekha tha acting karte huye aur unhone mujhe jitna observe kiya hoga Bigg Boss mein, toh unhone kaha hoga but aisa nhi ki intentionally ki ‘Manisha kabhi heroine ban nhi payegi.’ Aese nhi socha hoga unhone. (She hadn’t seen me acting, and based on what she observed of me in Bigg Boss, she said what she said. But it wasn’t like she intentionally thought, ‘Manisha will never be able to become a heroine.’ She wouldn’t have thought that.)”
The actress further added that if Pooja Bhatt is watching her now, and the kind of progress she has made so far in her professional career, then the latter might have a change of heart. “Shayad main uss time utni nhi hongi uss layek ki unko lagta hoga ki main heroine nhi bann paongi ya phir ye kuch achcha kaam aagey ja kar payengi. Toh theek hai. (Maybe at that time, I wasn’t good enough for her to think I could become a heroine or that I would do anything good in the future. So, it’s okay.),” she said.

After making her television debut on Dance India Dance Season 5, the 28-year-old worked in a small role in the & TV serial Gudiya Hamari Sabhi Pe Bhari in 2020. Following this, she appeared in Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 in 2023. Next, she entered Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 as a wild-card contestant and emerged as the season’s winner.
In 2025, she made her acting debut as the lead in Dreamiyata Drama’s web drama series Haale Dil. She also hosted a reality game show, The Treasure Hunters, on JioHotstar, and participated in the reality program Rise and Fall, finishing in 7th place.
