A traffic jam near Dubai’s Business Bay area led to the most shocking scenes as this woman was recorded stuck outside her office for one and a half hours after her log-out time. In a video shared by Farhan
Basheer on Instagram, Basheer showed the plight of his office colleague and other commuters in the region, with too many vehicles on the road causing a major halt.
The clip titled ‘Situation in Business Bay’ starts with Basheer speaking about this troubled and frustrated colleague to his followers. “So, guys, my colleague left my office at around 6:30 PM, and now it’s going to 8 PM, and she has reached here. So this is her car,” said Basheer, while pointing towards a vehicle standing just a few steps away from his office.
Woman Stuck In Traffic For 1.5 Hours Since Leaving Office
Going up to the stuck vehicle, Bashir shared a laugh with the driver before panning the camera across to the visibly annoyed female colleague of his. “Aaj to watt lagne wali hai (today we’re in trouble),” she says, having barely managed to move her car despite having left the office premises 1.5 hours back.
Once done trying to bring a smile to his colleague’s face and ease her stress, Basheer took a serious look into the matter and tagged the official Instagram profile of Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), requesting the authorities to provide an update and act over the issue at hand.
“Request @rta_dubai to resolve this serious issue. If it’s moving traffic, then it’s understandable, but day by day, people are stuck at the same place for almost 2 hours !… especially near Prism, Regal and One by Omniyat towers,” Basheer posted.
In its response, the agency said, “Thank you for contacting us. Please be informed that appropriate traffic solutions will be implemented to ease congestion in the Business Bay area. A planned development of the road network is underway, which includes improvements to Al Mustaqbal Street, Al Borsa Street, and Al Sukook Street, as well as the redevelopment of the Trade Centre Roundabout on Sheikh Zayed Road.”
“These enhancements are intended to ensure smoother traffic flow along Al Mustaqbal Street and the surrounding roads. The project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026. Thank you for your understanding,” it added.
‘Why Only Bengaluru Is Slammed?’
As the video of a prolonged traffic jam from Dubai went viral, Bengaluru locals and other Indian online users wondered why only their cities are called out for such disturbed mobility of vehicles and congested road scenes.
“Badnam sirf Bengaluru hota hai (Only Bengaluru gets slammed),” said a person in a funny jibe.
Someone else quipped, “I stay in the office until 10 pm, sleep for a bit and then reach home without facing traffic.”
“Damn, people might find this funny, but getting stuck in the same traffic almost every other day is frustrating. They gotta do something for it, sick and tired,” commented an individual.
The video highlighted how traffic jams are an issue all over the world as the global road infrastructure continues to try and keep pace with the constantly rising number of vehicles. These jams can be particularly annoying for working professionals, who need to reach their workplaces before login hours and then make some time for their loved ones after logging off.
