Jos Buttler joined Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales and David Warner in an elite list of batters on Sunday, April 12, by becoming the fifth cricketer in the world to score 14,000 runs in T20s. Buttler,
who is part of the Gujarat Titans IPL 2026 squad, needed 39 runs in his 497th T20 match to join the 14,000-run club in the 20-over format of the game, and he achieved the feat on the fifth ball of the 12th over of GT’s innings bowled by Avesh Khan.
Gayle was the first batter in the world to score 14,000 runs in T20s. He played a total of 463 T20 matches for more than 20 teams from 2005 to 2002 and amassed a total of 14,562 runs. His former West Indies teammate Pollard is second on the list with 14,482 runs in 735 matches, and they are followed by Alex Hales (14,449) and David Warner (14,121).

Buttler scored 60 runs from 37 balls for GT against LSG at Ekana Stadium, and he now has a total of 14,021 runs to his name in 497 T20 matches. The half-century by Buttler in the 165-run chase was his 100th fifty in T20s. He is only the third batter in the world after David Warner and Virat Kohli to slam 100 half-centuries in T20s.
Warner, who has 14,121 runs to his name in 436 T20 matches played so far, has slammed 116 fifties and 10 centuries, whereas Kohli has scored 9 centuries and 106 fifties.
