Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s love story is one of Bollywood’s most-celebrated romances. The couple first crossed paths on the sets of Tashan in 2008, a time when Kareena was still in a relationship
with Shahid Kapoor. According to reports, while filming, Kareena and Saif grew close, eventually leading to the end of her relationship with Shahid. However, when Saif and Kareena started dating, the actor felt jealous when she worked with other heroes.
In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Saif Ali Khan admitted, “In the beginning, I wasn’t very easy to deal with. Maybe I was a bit jealous and unsure of how to react to her working with other men. It was all new. These are emotions you need to process maturely, and you need a lot of trust and belief in each other.”
He mentioned, “When things are new, and if you’re naturally insecure in a relationship, it can be tricky to navigate. Normally, I had gone out with girls who had nothing to do with movies as such. The one that struck me was that my rivals would be her allies, and I was like, ‘How do you work that?’ But love triumphs that.”
In the same chat, Saif lauded Kareena and showered her with praise. Saif Ali Khan said, “She is able to work and be this, whatever she wants to be as an actor and a star and what drives her. But another side of her wants to be a mother and a wife, and a homemaker. Nice, if romantically, in terms of energy, if both people want the same thing and are playing slightly different roles.”
He continued, “We are lucky that we have that. She’s another person… She truly is an incredible, incredible woman. I’m so lucky to be with her because she’s one of the most patient and loving people I’ve met. She is absolutely wonderful. I could go on and on… She makes a wonderful home for us. She has lovely ideas, and she’s a creative person with her parts in front of the camera, but equally creative with us.”
After a few years of dating, they tied the knot on October 16, 2012. The couple is now proud parents to two sons—Taimur Ali Khan, born in 2016, and Jehangir Ali Khan, born in 2021.
