A simple flight out of Mumbai can turn into a sightseeing moment if you know where to look. A recent video shared online shows what passengers can spot from their window seats just after take-off, especially
when the aircraft heads west. The clip walks viewers through well-known parts of the city seen from above, reminding travellers that Mumbai’s landmarks look very different when viewed from the sky instead of the road.
Flying often feels rushed, but this video encourages people to slow down and notice the city beneath them before the clouds take over.
What Can You Spot Right After Take-Off?
The clip opens with a clear aerial view of Mumbai’s tall buildings as the plane gains height. A narrator calmly guides viewers through the sights below, starting with Vile Parle railway station. From above, the station looks small, but the moment becomes special when a moving train appears in the frame. The narrator points out how rare it feels to see rail and air travel together in one shot.
As the plane continues westward, the camera captures the Juhu airstrip. The smaller airport stands out clearly from above, with Juhu Lake nearby. The lake is seen covered with patches of water hyacinth, forming green patterns against the surrounding area.
How Does Juhu Beach Look From The Sky?
Soon after, the video shows Juhu Beach stretching along the coastline. The waves are visible hitting the shore, and a few boats can be spotted floating near the water. While people on the beach cannot be seen clearly, the narrator jokes that people know exactly what is happening down there, evening walks, snacks, and sea breeze.
The wide view gives the beach a calm look, very different from the crowded scenes usually experienced on the ground.
What’s Changing Along The Coastline?
Towards the end of the clip, the focus shifts to the Versova-Bandra Sea Connector. The under-construction project is clearly visible from above, cutting through the sea. The narrator explains how this entire view will look very different once the connector is completed, hinting at how fast the city keeps changing.
The caption simply reads, “Observe this from your flight!”

What Are People Saying About The View?
Shared on November 17, the video has crossed 7 lakh views so far. Many viewers shared their own flying experiences. A comment read, “Great. Now waiting for AQI to get better to actually see this clearly.” Another said they always look for familiar places like Mithibai College from the air.
Some pointed out extra sights, including Marine Drive, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai Port, and even the offshore ONGC oil rigs on very clear days. A user summed it up best by saying, “I pay extra for a window seat only for this stunning view of Mumbai.”
