XLRI, the conducting body of the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), has released the response sheets and question papers for XAT 2026. Candidates who appeared for the exam can download their response sheets from
the official website, xatonline.in. The XAT 2026 examination was held on January 4 in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
How To Download XAT 2026 Response Sheet?
Candidates can follow the steps given below to access their response sheets:
Step 1: Visit the official website at xatonline.in.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Response Sheet’ link available on the homepage.
Step 3: Log in using XAT ID and date of birth as password.
Step 4: Check and download the response sheet.
Candidates are also allowed to raise objections or grievances against the response sheet. The official answer keys for XAT 2026 will be released next.
XAT 2026 Exam Pattern And Marking Scheme
The XAT 2026 question paper consisted of five sections divided into three parts. The first part included Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation. The second part was the keyboard testing section, while the third part consisted of Essay Writing and General Awareness.
“The scores from the General Knowledge (GK) will be exclusively utilised by XLRI for its final selection process,” a statement on the official website read.
Each question carried one mark, with a total of 95 questions in the paper. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Candidates were allowed to skip up to eight questions without penalty. However, skipping more than eight questions attracted a penalty of 0.10 marks per question.
The General Knowledge section does not have negative marking and does not count towards the overall percentile or cutoff score. However, it will be considered during the final selection process.

XAT 2026 Exam Details
The XAT 2026 exam was conducted on January 4 from 2 pm to 5 pm across 109 cities in India. The question paper included 95 multiple-choice questions divided into four sections:
- Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning: 26 questions
- Decision Making: 21 questions
- Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation: 28 questions
- General Knowledge: 20 questions
The marking scheme included +1 mark for each correct answer, –0.25 mark for each incorrect answer, and –0.10 mark deducted after eight consecutive unattempted questions. There was no negative marking for the General Knowledge section.
