The Beckham family feud has garnered widespread attention, with social media churning out memes, speculation, and at times, certain truths, perhaps, and the chatter around the high-profile English icon’s
family has divided opinions on who is at fault.
Brooklyn Beckham, David and Victoria’s eldest son, broke his silence on the long-rumoured rift with his parents, confirming the worst by revealing that he is indeed estranged and does not wish to reconcile.
Brooklyn accused his parents of controlling him for years and attempting to sabotage his marriage with actress and the heir to a billionaire father, Nicola Peltz. The 26-year-old Brooklyn also stated that the family’s unity took a back seat to the public brand of the Beckhams.
Circa April 2022, talks of a rift started to spread as early as the wedding day of Brooklyn and Nicola, as the bride passed on the chance to don a dress on her grand day designed by Brooklyn’s mum and former Spice Girl, Victoria, which did not go down well with Posh Spice.
Couple of months after the wedding, the family shut out such talks and came up with a tale to ell the world that all was good at the Becks’. But, Brooklyn has now revealed the truth around the circumstances.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
Brooklyn also opened up on the pressure he was put under to sign away rights to his name before the wedding, which he refused. The 26-year-old lad went on to share instances where he was instructed by family members that Nicola wasn’t blood and wasn’t part of the family, before Victoria ‘stole’ the couple’s first dance, which left the eldest son of the Beckham lot humiliated.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife,” Brooklyn said.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote.
Brooklyn and his missus weren’t extended an invitation to the former English skipper’s 50th birthday celebration, with talks on the grapevine suggesting that the midfield maestro fused to meet his son if Nicola were in the room.
Brooklyn also stated that his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, were allegedly asked to slander him on social media before blocking him in the (Circa mid-2025).
Cruz took to social media to clarify that suggstions that he was asked to cut ties with the oldest brother were baseless and untrue.
“NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I,” Cruz said.
In another chapter of the forlorn story, Brooklyn did not even fly down to the UK to celebrate Christmas in December instead opting to spend time at the Peltz’s.
Crucially in the tale, there has been a running narrative that Nicola has the eldest Beckham boy wrapped around her finger, but Brooklyn has revealed that he was being controlled by the Beckham family and that his levels of anxiety have reduced since distancing himself.
Brooklyn and Nicola, who had met at Coachella through a brother’s circle, went on to renew their wedding vows, just three years after tying the knot, in a much more closed ceremony in August 2025, and the duo weren’t present when David was knighted at the Windsor Castle in November that year.
Brooklyn added that he and his missus seek peace, privacy, and happiness away from the limelight.
Papa Beckham, however, remains forgiving as he claimed children are permitted to err and must be afforded the space to learn from their mistakes, while Victoria has refrained from commenting on the same.
