Singer Diljit Dosanjh always manages to win hearts wherever he goes. His music, his aura and his easy-going personality win him admirers no matter where he is. A recent video from New York is proof that
even on foreign streets, his charm pulls everyone in, including the police.
The short clip, filmed last month during his trip to the city, continues to circulate online. It shows him interacting with New York Police Department (NYPD) officers who stopped their car to meet him.
A Street-Side Fan Moment In New York
In the viral video, Diljit Dosanjh is seen walking down a New York street when a police car comes to a halt near him. Sitting inside the vehicle was an Indian-origin officer who immediately recognised the singer. Unable to contain his excitement, the officer used the mic to call out, “Punjabi aa gaye oye!”
The cheerful greeting caught Diljit by surprise, but it instantly made him smile. He stopped by the car, exchanged a few words and happily posed with the officers.
The clip was posted with the caption, “New York Police just had their very own ‘Punjabi Aa Gaye Oye’ moment with Diljit Dosanjh on the streets! The vibe of Punjab truly knows no boundaries.”

A Little Fan’s Heartfelt Request
Such reactions aren’t new for Diljit. During his Dil-Luminati India tour last year, he touched hearts with another adorable interaction. A little girl, who lived near the stadium where he was performing, wanted to be part of the concert even from her terrace. The distance made it hard for her to hear, and she was recorded saying, “Diljit uncle thoda tez chilla do (Diljit uncle, can you please sing a bit loudly).”
Her mother, pointing to the stadium in the background, explained that they couldn’t hear his voice properly. The clip caught Diljit’s attention, who shared the video on his Instagram Stories. He also offered the family tickets to his next show, writing, “Beta come I have tickets for you and your family,” with a folded hands emoji.
