Couple Resume Ranabaali Shoot
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have reportedly resumed work. The couple, who have been keeping the audience excited for their upcoming film Ranabaali, took a break to tie the knot in the beautiful landscape of Udaipur. Now, it has been reported that they are back at work after month-long festivities and a month-long break. As per Bollywood Hungama, on Friday, the couple commenced shooting in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and have been “exceptionally professional” on location. The portal quoted a source saying, “They don’t take ‘together’ breaks. They are not pausing the shooting to spend time together. They are just co-stars on the set.”
Ranabaali is one of the most crucial projects for the couple, especially for Vijay, as he hasn’t had a hit film in quite a long time. Vijay’s last successful film was Geetha Govindam in 2018, which starred him alongside his now-wife, Rashmika Mandanna. Ever since, he has had several releases, including NOTA, Taxiwaala, Dear Comrade, World Famous Lover, Liger, Kushi, Family Star, and Kingdom, which haven’t really worked at the box office.
A friend close to the couple shared, “Ranabaali must work for Vijay, and Rashmika knows it. She is putting her all, and then some more, into the project.”
All about Rashmika and Vijay’s Ranabaali
Set in 19th-century India, Ranabaali is inspired by real-life events said to have occurred between 1854 and 1878 during British rule. The first glimpse suggests the film explores a dark chapter of colonial history, referencing large-scale violence, staggering economic plunder, and human loss during that period.
In the film, Vijay plays a freedom fighter named Ranabaali, a character positioned as fierce and uncompromising in his rebellion. Rashmika will portray Jayamma, a pivotal role expected to anchor the emotional core of the story. Actor Arnold Vosloo is set to appear as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.
Ranabaali is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series presenting the film.
