IndiGo’s operational meltdown entered its fifth consecutive day on Saturday, with hundreds of domestic flights cancelled across major airports, marking the worst phase yet of the ongoing crisis.

authorities said the situation remains “under close watch”, with no immediate signs of a quick recovery as schedules continue to unravel.
Major airports reported sharp spikes in cancellations through the day.
Mumbai recorded the highest impact with 109 flights cancelled, while Delhi followed with 86 scrapped departures, choking operations at India’s two busiest hubs, reported NDTV.
The disruption rippled across other metros as well: Hyderabad reported 69 cancellations, Bengaluru 50, Pune 42, and Chennai around 30.
In Ahmedabad, 19 flights were withdrawn from service amid ongoing shortages.
The airline, which normally operates around 2,300 flights a day with a fleet of over 400 aircraft, continues to struggle with severe crew shortages and planning lapses.
