Fadnavis suggested that despite the shifting nature of dollar-rupee exchange rate, there has been an unprecedented interest in Maharashtra and India.
“Dollar rupee exchange rate keeps shifting goal post, but I am not worried about that. Despite global headwinds, we are seeing unprecedented interest in Maharashtra and India.”
On US-India Trade Deal
Speaking about the US-India trade deal, CM Devendra Fadnavis said his expertise lied in inter-state trade deal, while also adding that one should be hopeful.
“I do inter-state trade deals, do not have competence on what will happen with US. But we should be very hopeful”, he said.
India and the US have concluded most of the discussions on their proposed trade deal and are now in the process of fine-tuning the agreement, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Monday.
Speaking about US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Mumbai, Fadnavis said, “Rubio’s meeting was a short one. He was satisfied with Mumbai infrastructure.”
On Differences In Mahayuti
Devendra Fadnavis also addressed the challenges associated with a coalition government. While he acknowledged that there are differences among the three parties under the Mahayuti, he said he had been able to achieve consensus on 99 per cent of things.
“Challenges are there in coalition government, one has to learn the art of driving consensus. I have been able to achieve consensus on 99% of things”, he said.
“We all want development for Maharashtra, we face some issues. We have given Maratha quota and in HC there is a case going, we will be able to sustain our stance in HC. Dhangar community case is sub judice. We are trying to strike a balance within confines of constitution. Hopeful, that court will decide in our favour,” he added.
