Major Indian airlines have issued fresh travel advisories as dense fog and poor visibility continue to disrupt flight operations across several parts of northern and eastern India. IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet
have warned passengers of possible delays, diversions and cancellations, particularly during early morning hours over the next few days.
The advisories were issued late on Saturday night through the airlines’ official social media handles, asking travellers to check flight status regularly before leaving for the airport.
IndiGo warns of early-morning disruptions
IndiGo said reduced visibility due to fog is likely to affect flight movements in Delhi and other parts of north India. The airline added that operations teams are closely monitoring weather conditions to limit disruption wherever possible.
In a post on X, IndiGo said low visibility over Bengaluru and Amritsar had already impacted schedules. The airline urged passengers to stay updated through its website and assured travellers that ground staff were available to provide assistance during delays or rescheduling.
The airline also advised passengers to factor in extra travel time to reach airports, as fog may affect runway operations and air traffic flow.

Passengers asked to plan ahead
With winter fog becoming more frequent, airlines have urged passengers to plan journeys carefully, especially for early morning flights. Travellers have been advised to reach airports well in advance and remain flexible in case of delays.
Airlines said weather conditions can change rapidly and impact flight safety, making fog-related disruptions unavoidable at times. Passengers are expected to face intermittent delays until visibility improves.
Authorities have not mentioned how long the foggy conditions are likely to last, but airlines have said they will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as required.
