Toxic Box Office Collection Day 1: Yash’s much-awaited movie Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups finally hit theatres on Wednesday. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the gangster drama, which also stars Kiara
Advani , Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, received mixed reviews from all. However, despite everything, the film earned around Rs 140 crore at the box office on its opening day.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic earned around Rs 101 crore net in India on its opening day. The film’s worldwide gross collection stood at approximately Rs 140.75 crore, including around Rs 120.75 crore from India and Rs 20 crore from overseas markets. This means that the film earned close to Rs 140.75 crore on its first day of release.
While Toxic’s Kannada shows recorded an occupancy of 89 per cent, Hindi shows also had an occupancy of 53 per cent.
Toxic Beats Jawan, Animal And Dhurandhar On Day 1
Toxic has created a record with Rs 140 crore opening. The film crossed the entire opening-day collection of Dhurandhar during its morning shows itself. It also surpassed the opening figures of films such as Pathaan, Animal and Jawan during the course of the day.
The Hindi version emerged as a major contributor, reportedly collecting Rs 55 crore net on Day 1. The Kannada version recorded an impressive 89 per cent occupancy despite collecting under Rs 25 crore, while the Telugu version also performed strongly.
What Does Toxic Revolve Around?
Toxic follows a gangster who finds himself caught between loyalty, morality and his search for personal redemption in post-independence Goa, a setting marked by violence and jealousy. The official plot summary of the film reads, “A gangster navigates the complexities of loyalty, morality, and the struggle for personal redemption in a post-independence Goa where violence and jealousy reign. With its atmospheric world, brutal action sequences, and morally conflicted characters, the film explores the price one must pay for love and for finding redemption amidst the darkness.”
