Following the success of Siyaara, Mohit Suri is all set for his next, and this time, if the reports are to be believed, the ace director is in talks with Ranbir Kapoor for yet another epic musical love
story set against the backdrop of a gangster drama. The report has also claimed that multiple rounds of meetings have already taken place between the actor-director duo.
A source close to Bollywood Hungama shared, “Mohit has locked a script and is looking to start shooting for the film by the end of 2026. He has full support from producer Aditya Chopra, as the duo is all set to embark on the journey of creating something as special as Saiyaara.”
“Mohit has had the dream of working with Ranbir Kapoor for the longest time. The success of Saiyaara and the support of Aditya Chopra have now given him the opportunity to cast Ranbir. Ranbir is also excited to collaborate with Mohit but has not committed to the film yet. He is still sorting his calendar, as both Love and War and Ramayana are delayed,” the source further claimed.
The update has it that Ranbir, who has a packed lineup of releases, has really liked the movie script. The source further added, “It has a big scope for music too, and if Ranbir does it, it could be one of the last love stories of his career. He will take a final call towards the middle of 2026. Mohit and Adi are meanwhile starting pre-production for the film. Even if Ranbir rejects it, they want to be prepared to start the film by the end of 2026, irrespective of the actors who come on board.”

On the professional front, Ranbir is gearing up for one of the most anticipated films, Ramayana. Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial, produced by Namit Malhotra, will see Ranbir essaying the role of Lord Ram. The epic drama also boasts an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sai Pallavi, Lara Dutta, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The magnum opus will be released in two parts, with the shooting for Ramayana: Part 1 already wrapped up. Additionally, Ranbir will reunite on screen with his wife Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal.
