Ramayana FIRST Review: Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is one of the most-awaited films. While everyone is eagerly waiting to watch Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Ram avatar in theatres, people in Los Angeles recently
witnessed Tiwari’s creation on screen. As reported by The Week, the first-ever screening of Ramayana was held in Los Angeles at the Cinemark Playa Vista movie screen for a select group of people. Reportedly, people from the age group 18-60 attended the first-cut show, following which they praised the movie.
Reportedly, Ramayana received ‘positive’ reviews from the audience, who also appreciated the Nitesh Tiwari directorial for its ‘rooted storytelling’. Viewers also praised “the gargantuan scale of the film and monstrous visual effects”. However, it should be noted that only the first cut of the movie was screened, which means it was a test experiment from the makers’ side.
Ramayana: What’s The Update?
Reportedly, the makers have already wrapped up the edit of the first installment of the film. In October 2025, Pinkvilla claimed that Ramayana makers are now working on the film’s VFX and are planning to focus on it for the next 300 days. Reportedly, Namit Malhotra (Producer) and his team are planning to lock the final cut of Ramayana: Part One by Summer 2026, so that the film can hit theatres on Diwali.
Who Is Playing What In Ramayana?
While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Laxma,n respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodri and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan are also a part of this project.
When Will Ramayana Hit Theatres?
Nitesh Tiwari is making Ramayana into two parts. While the first part will be released worldwide on Diwali 2026, the second part will hit theatres on Diwali next year i.e. in 2027.
