Stocks Rise: Sensex Up 110, Nifty Above 26150

• Nifty opens above 26,200, Sensex at 85,326, start year positive.
• Top gainers: IndiGo, M&M, Eternal, TCS, NTPC; up to 1.1%.
• ITC, Bajaj Finance, BEL, Axis Bank, and Titan lag in early trade.

The Indian indices started the year 2026 on a positive note with Nifty opening above 26,200. The BSE Sensex traded nearly 110 points higher at 85,326 points in the morning trade, while the NSE Nifty rose

by 40 points to trade at 26,174 points.

Among the 30 Sensex shares, 18 were trading in green in the early trade. Among the top gainers were IndiGo, M&M, Eternal, TCS and NTPC rising by up to 1.1%. On the other hand, the top laggards were ITC, Bajaj Finance, BEL, Axis Bank, and Titan.
