Ace Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to sport the Rajasthan Royals colours in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, starting from March 28. The 37-year-old returned to the franchise after 17 years
via a trade deal with Chennai Super Kings ahead of the players’ auction. The Royals are currently involved in a pre-season camp where Jadeja caught up with young batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The franchise shared a video on Tuesday where both stars could be seen meeting and greeting each other. Jadeja, who joined the camp last week, asked the 14-year-old kid about his recent outing in the DY Patil T20 in Mumbai.
“Jab Vaibhav Sooryavanshi met Banna,” the caption of the video read.

Jadeja previously represented Rajasthan Royals in the world’s richest franchise league from 2008 to 2009 and played a big role in the team’s title win in 2008. He is one of the most experienced players in IPL history.
Jadeja, who retired from T20Is after India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024, has played in 254 IPL matches so far for four teams – RR, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, CSK and Gujarat Lions. In those 254 matches, he has amassed a total of 3260 runs and 170 wickets.
Speaking of Sooryavanshi, the teenager recently won the Under-19 World Cup for India. The team, led by CSK’s Ayush Mhatre, defeated England by 100 runs in Harare last month. He recently participated in the DY Patil T20, where he represented DY Patil Blue. He smashed a 19-ball 58 to help DY Patil Blue beat Income Tax by four wickets in the quarter finals. However, Sooryavanshi’s team lost the semi-final to Mumbai Customs.
The youngster was seen exiting the Wankhede Stadium after India’s seven-run win against England in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup last Thursday. After India sealed their spot in the final, Vaibhav was seen outside the stadium, heading into a car post-game.
