Kriti Sanon is gearing up for her next film Cocktail 2, with Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. The makers have already announced the release date. Recently, Kriti Sanon revealed that she is all set
to surprise audiences with a striking new avatar, and also opened up about what makes her role in the upcoming film truly special.
Bollywood Hungama quoted Kriti Sanon talking about her role in the film. She said, “I think I’m looking very different from what I’ve ever looked and it’s probably the hottest character that I’ve done so far. And I think Homi is someone who has great great aesthetic visual sense and he’s just inherently cool and I think he’s brought a cool side to me which I didn’t know I had.”
Kriti Sanon Reveals Why She Said Yes To Cocktail 2
Earlier, speaking to Variety, Kriti said, “Tere Ishk Mein was so emotionally draining, it had completely emptied me emotionally. I felt I needed something light and fun, and that’s when Cocktail came my way. I thought, ‘This is it. This is the space I want to be in.’ It’s also nice to play characters that are poles apart, to not get too much of the load on you emotionally, because going back-to-back with deeply layered roles can take a toll on you.”
Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika And Kriti’s Cocktail 2 Gets A Release Date
On March 13, Shahid shared a picture of himself, which appears to be from the film, and announced the release date. The film will hit theatres on 19th June 2026. Along with the release date, the actor even informed his fans that the first look of Cocktail 2, most probably the teaser, will be launched on March 18 in theatres. It will be attached to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, which is the most-anticipated film of the year. The text on the picture read, “First look this Wednesday. Only in theatres. Cocktail 2 releasing in cinemas worldwide 19th June 2026.” Along with the photo, he wrote in his caption, “For more info, make your way to the theatres this Wednesday, March 18.” Shahid looks all things suave in a printed shirt while sitting in a car and donning sunglasses.
Kriti Sanon On Losing Films Because Of Nepotism
When asked if it’s true whether she was replaced by a star kid in a project, she replied, “Many times. But wo toh star kid na hua, toh koi aur hoga. (But if not star kid, it can be someone else). There are so many actors.”
She further explained that there are so many outsiders in Bollywood whose careers are thriving. “If you look closely, many actors today do not come from film backgrounds and are thriving. So ultimately, talent is what truly speaks, and I think the debate on nepotism is one we are somewhat weary of. It exists everywhere. Of course, whenever in life if I have a kid and the kid wants to be in acting, they’ll have easy access because they know people who are already in the business, right? But at the end of it, your talent is what is going to make you sustain. You can get 2-3 opportunities very easily. You can enter various doors and sign a few films, but in the end, you must resonate with the audience. It is ultimately the audience that determines who remains and who fades away,” said Kriti.
