The BJP came down heavily on a new attempt by the Congress to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother only days after a raging controversy over her alleged insult at a joint poll campaign
by the opposition in poll-bound Bihar.
In a strong response, the BJP said the Congress has “crossed all limits” and lowered the political discourse after the Bihar Congress released an AI-generated video showing two characters resembling Modi and his late mother, in which the latter is scolding him for using her name while campaigning for the assembly elections in the state.

The BJP called it a “disgusting” attempt to target someone who is no longer alive. It said “far from having remorse”, the Congress is trying to justify its previous alleged remarks against the Prime Minister’s mother.

In the video, the character resembling Modi is shown to be turning in for the night and says: “I’m done with today’s ‘vote chori’, let’s get a good night’s sleep now.”
While the character is sleeping, it dreams of a woman resembling the Prime Minister’s mother Hiraben, who scolds him for using her name to indulge in politics for garnering votes.
Towards the end of the video, the woman rebukes the sleeping man: “How far are you willing to fall when it comes to politics?” At which, the man in the video wakes with a start.
While the Congress has not taken any names in the video, it is clear that the target is the PM, who recently alleged that his mother had been insulted by the opposition during its Bihar poll campaign. He even turned emotional as he condemned the remarks made against his late mother.
A row erupted during Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Darbhanga, where abusive slogans targeting Modi’s mother were shouted from the Congress-RJD stage.
“Mother is our world. Mother is our self-respect. I had not even imagined what happened a few days ago in this tradition-rich Bihar. My mother was abused from the stage of RJD-Congress in Bihar,” Modi said while launching a new cooperative initiative in Bihar focused on boosting women’s entrepreneurship and self-reliance on September 2.
