Suniel Shetty’s son, Ahan Shetty, is gearing up for the release of Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Varun Dhawan. The film is all set to release in theatres on January 23. Now, in a recent
interview, Suniel Shetty revealed that he is feeling very emotional as Ahan gears up for the film’s release, especially since he had a tough few years after his debut film ‘Tadap’. He said that it’s great to see the love he has been receiving and that he still gets teary-eyed whenever he reads kind words about his son.
Suniel Shetty Says Son Ahan Had A Tough 2 Years After His Debut Film Tadap
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Suniel Shetty was asked what it feels like as his son, Ahan Shetty, is gearing up for the release of Border 2. He replied, “Very emotional. He’s had a tough two years after Tadap. Then Border 2 came along, and the love he’s receiving feels blessed. I told him one thing: go with all your heart. Believe you are the character you’re playing. And be good to people. I don’t know what I’ve achieved, success or failure, but I’ve built friendships. That matters.”
The veteran actor further added, “I still get teary-eyed when I read kind words about him. It makes a difference. Because at the end of the day, everything— money, success, fame — comes down to one thing: protecting your children, living with dignity, and doing right by people. And that, I learned from my father.”
When Ahan Shetty Talked About Self-Doubt After His Debut Film
Last year, in a conversation with Hindustan Times, Ahan admitted he did doubt himself when he didn’t have any offers. He said, “When Tadap came out, there was still technically a lockdown. We were at 50% occupancy in theatres, and a lot of theatres weren’t even open, and after four days, we went down to 25% capacity, and we lost five states.”
He said, “For the year after that, it was very up in the air in terms of the industry, films weren’t working, people weren’t going into the theatres. So, a lot of self-doubt crept in. I also lost a lot of people in that time in terms of not being with them or not being friends with them anymore. So that also taught me who’s there for you at your highs and your lows. It was a lot of life lessons and many lessons in terms of my career.”
Border 2 brings together an impressive cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh. The film, directed by Anurag Singh, is set to release on January 23.
