The CBI’s investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak has now shifted focus to Rajasthan’s Sikar district, where a family is accused of paying lakhs of rupees to get access to the leaked exam
paper for their son. The case has drawn attention after investigators found that the student, despite allegedly receiving the paper in advance, scored only 107 marks out of 720 in the medical entrance exam.
According to an NDTV report, the CBI has arrested three members of a family from Sikar, brothers Dinesh Biwal and Mangilal Biwal, along with Mangilal’s eldest son, Vikas. Officials believe the accused were involved in arranging and circulating a “guess paper” that reportedly matched the actual NEET-UG paper closely.
Student’s Marks Under Scrutiny
The investigation is now focused on Rishi Biwal, son of the accused Dinesh Biwal, who is currently absconding. Officials suspect that Rishi got access to the leaked paper before the exam took place.
Investigators claimed that Dinesh Biwal paid around Rs 10 lakh to obtain the leaked question paper for his son in the hope of helping him secure admission into a medical college.
However, despite the alleged help, Rishi reportedly scored only 107 out of 720 marks in NEET-UG. During questioning, officials said Dinesh admitted that the arrangement was made specifically to support his son’s preparation for the exam.
Academic Record Raises Questions
As part of the probe, investigators also checked Rishi’s past academic performance. According to records accessed during the investigation, he scored 254 out of 500 marks in the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) Class 12 exams.
He secured 50.80 per cent and reportedly passed with a second division after receiving grace marks. Officials noted that his marks in science subjects were weak. His marksheet showed 32 in Hindi, 51 in English, 51 in Physics, 58 in Chemistry and 62 in Biology.
Investigators particularly pointed out his low theory marks in Physics and Chemistry. They also found that he had scored around 44 per cent in his Class 10 exams earlier.
Officials suspect that despite the student’s weak academic background, the family remained determined to get him into the medical field and may have turned to the leak network for help.
Flat In Sikar Linked To Leak Network
The CBI has also reportedly identified a flat in Sikar that was allegedly used as a centre for coordinating the leak operation.
According to investigators, members of the network reportedly distributed leaked papers and communicated with candidates from the location before the examination.
Officials believe some accused acted as couriers and physically delivered question papers and related material to students ahead of the exam.
Dinesh Biwal and some of his relatives are suspected to have been part of that chain, the investigation has revealed so far.
