Love & War, starring Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor, is the one project moviegoers have been eagerly waiting for, and now, finally, the update is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has wrapped the shoot
of the film and is all set for the release of the upcoming romantic war drama on January 21, 2027. The team, along with SLB, had an emotional farewell with the entire unit as they marked the completion of the film’s shoot. Now, SLB will shift his focus towards the film’s post-production.
Love & War To Release On January 21
Love & War is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2027, and this update has further added to the anticipation. While the audience has not yet seen a glimpse of the film, it has been confirmed that it will have its grand theatrical release during the long Republic Day weekend, with the movie premiering in cinemas on January 21.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, Love & War will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Bhansali had initially planned a Summer 2026 release, but production timelines were pushed back. Ranbir Kapoor later confirmed during an Instagram Live session that the film would arrive after Ramayana Part One releases in October.
Despite the secrecy, excitement around the film remains sky-high. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Alia Bhatt spoke about what makes the project special for her. “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate again after so many years. I am like, ‘Wow, what’s that going to be like?’”
She also opened up about sharing screen space with Vicky Kaushal once again. “Vicky and I coming together again; Ranbir and Vicky created magic with Sanju. So, it is a lot of combinations,” she said.
Alia-Ranbir-Vicky’s work front
Away from Love & War, all three stars have packed schedules ahead. Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for Ramayana, in which he stars as Lord Ram. The movie is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2026. Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, recently graced theatres with her YRF spy thriller Alpha, alongside Sharvari. Vicky Kaushal is currently in the headlines as he will be seen in Mahavatar, where he will play Chiranjeevi Parashurama.
