US President Donald Trump on Wednesday recalled inheriting a nation in “crisis” and said that America is back — bigger, better, and stronger. Delivering his annual State of the Union (SOTU) address to
Congress, his first speech in his second term, Trump declared that the economy of the country is “roaring like never before”.
Addressing the 2026 State of the Union, Trump said, “My fellow Americans, our nation is back — bigger, better, richer and stronger than ever before.” The President said that in the coming months, the country is going to do better and hailed the “golden age of America”.
Asserting that American borders were the strongest they had ever been, Trump claimed that zero illegal aliens had entered the US in the past nine months.
The US President said he returned to the White House after inheriting a difficult situation, but claimed the country has since undergone a major “transformation” during his first year back in office.
“The Biden administration and its allies in Congress gave us the worst inflation in the history of our country. But in 12 months, my administration has driven core inflation down to the lowest level in more than 5 years—and in the last 3 months of 2025, it was down to 1.7 percent,” said Trump.

“After just one year, I can say with dignity and pride that we have achieved a transformation like no one has ever seen before — a turnaround for the ages,” Trump said.
Trump On Immigration
Donald Trump further turned to immigration, one of the central issues of his campaign, and claimed that the flow of deadly fentanyl across the US-Mexico border has fallen by a record 56 per cent in the past year.
Trump said efforts to curb illegal immigration and drug trafficking have delivered results, asserting that after four years of what he described as unchecked crossings, the United States now has “the strongest and most secure border in American history”.
