Tesla has opened its first showroom in Delhi at the stylish Worldmark 3 complex in Aerocity, just weeks after its India debut in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.
The location, near Indira Gandhi International
Airport, places Tesla in the heart of a bustling commercial district filled with global brands.
What Can Visitors Expect?
The Aerocity outlet is an experience centre showcasing the Model Y electric SUV. Visitors can explore the car, learn about purchase plans, and get details on charging options. For now, Tesla is focusing on the Model Y for India, available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and Long Range RWD variants. Bookings opened in July, with prices starting at
Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025.Why is This Launch Significant?
This is Tesla’s second Indian retail space in under a month, signalling an aggressive push ahead of the festive season. Alongside its showrooms, Tesla is expanding its charging infrastructure — including a Supercharger at its Mumbai site. While no additional models or local manufacturing plans have been revealed yet, the brand is clearly building a premium EV network to tap into growing demand.
Model Y: What’s on Offer?
In India, the Model Y comes in two rear-wheel-drive versions:
- Standard RWD – Rs 59.89 lakh, 500 km range, 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds
- Long Range RWD – Rs 67.89 lakh, 622 km range, 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds
Both versions reach a top speed of 201 km/h and support rapid charging, adding over 230 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Why Does it Stand Out?
The Model Y features a sleek, aerodynamic design with full LED lighting and futuristic wheels. Inside, it offers a minimalist yet premium cabin with aluminium trim, dual touchscreens (15.4-inch front and 8-inch rear), ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, ambient lighting, and a nine-speaker sound system. Noise reduction is boosted by Tesla’s updated suspension and laminated glass.
