The wait is over! The first teaser of Border 2, the sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 hit film, is finally out, and fans couldn’t be more nostalgic. From power-packed action sequences to patriotic emotions, the film promises
everything to keep you glued to the big screen.
While Sunny Deol, the OG actor, returns to lead the film, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty join the clan this time, bringing fresh energy to the screen. The film has already been receiving praise for its scale, action, and emotional moments. Joining the praise squad is Ahan Shetty’s elder sister, Athiya Shetty, who took to her Instagram Stories to express her excitement and pride.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Athiya shared the film’s teaser and wrote, “Uff, too good! Congratulations to the entire team! So excited,” along with the Indian flag, clap, and salute emojis.
In the next slide, she posted a picture of Ahan in a gritty, blood-streaked war-zone look from the film and tagged him, adding a fire emoji.

The teaser opens with intense war visuals, with Sunny Deol’s commanding voice challenging Pakistan. Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty are introduced as the new faces, each seen standing guard at different frontiers, as the teaser smoothly shifts between high-octane battlefield action and glimpses of their personal lives.
One striking moment shows Sunny’s character motivating his troops, asking them to raise their voices so loudly that “even Lahore can hear the war cries of Indian soldiers.” The teaser concludes with massive aerial, land, and naval combat sequences, while the iconic Hindustan Meri Jaan theme from the original plays in the background, instantly evoking nostalgia.
The teaser was released on December 16, coinciding with the 44th Vijay Diwas, which commemorates India’s victory in the 1971 war.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films. The film also stars Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Paramvir Cheema, Guneet Sandhu, and Angad Singh. It is scheduled to release on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day.
