A group of citizens under the umbrella banner of “Citizens for Democracy” has announced plans to host a major mock Parliament session in New Delhi on October 30. The event is designed as a direct counter-demonstration
to a parallel mock parliamentary session organised by the opposition INDIA bloc on the same day.
The programme will take place at 10.30 am at the NDMC Convention Centre in the national capital. Organisers confirmed that no Bharatiya Janata Party leaders or Members of Parliament will participate, framing the gathering as an initiative led strictly by nationalist citizens opposing street-level political agitation and anarchy.
Emulating Opposition Tactics to Expose Parliamentary Conduct
By hosting a parallel session, the Citizens for Democracy group aims to counter the INDIA bloc using its own political play. The session will focus on recreating and showcasing the parliamentary conduct and political functioning of the Congress and other opposition parties.
To replicate a formal legislative setting, organisers are constructing a temporary Parliament-like structure inside the convention venue. The organisers stated that the initiative is driven by nationalist citizens mobilising against what they describe as “regime change attempts on the streets and growing lawlessness across the country”.
