Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji are one of Bollywood’s most loved sister duos, and their close bond was recently evident when the latter revealed that her sister played a significant role in helping finance
her charming vintage-inspired home in Mumbai. She recently welcomed Farah Khan and her cook Dilip into her Mumbai residence for an episode on the filmmaker’s YouTube channel. While giving viewers a tour of her beautifully designed vintage-style home, Tanishaa opened up about its journey and revealed that her sister, Kajol, played a crucial role in helping her turn the dream into reality by financially supporting her.
Farah Khan seemed impressed by the vibe of her house. She said, “I am loving this vibe. You cannot find a house like this in Mumbai. I feel like I have arrived in Kolkata.” During the interaction, she revealed that most of the furniture in the house came from her old family home. When Farah asked if it was her mother’s house, the former actress confirmed, “Yes, my mum’s house. This is all my mum’s furniture because my dad was not a very homely person. I shifted here around 14 years ago. Now I am settled here. Mumbai changed, according to me. The Sea Link came up too.”
Curious about Kajol’s involvement, Farah playfully questioned Tanishaa about her sister’s contribution to the house. She instantly replied, “She paid for it!” Farah then said, “Okay, well done. That’s the only kind of contribution we want.” To this, Tanishaa said, “She signs the cheque books.”
Tanishaa Mukerji stepped into Bollywood with the 2003 thriller Sssshhh, sharing screen space with Karan Nath and Dino Morea. Although the film did not perform well commercially, she went on to build a diverse body of work with projects such as Sarkar, Neal ‘n’ Nikki, and the Tamil romantic drama Unnale Unnale. She further gained popularity on Bigg Boss 7 in 2013. She was the first runner-up. Tanishaa was last seen in the 2024 film Luv You Shankar.
