Superstar Salman Khan, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film, Maatrubhumi, recently announced his new film with producer Dil Raju. The untitled film will be helmed by Vamshi Paidipally,
and it will also star Nayanthara as the leading lady. Soon after the announcement on social media, Salman, known for his kind gestures, shared a tweet in support of Rajpal Yadav. During an award show, senior journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, who was hosting alongside Zakir Khan, made a remark referencing Yadav’s financial case. After the clip surfaced on social media, netizens criticised the insensitive comments. Salman too came out in support of him and mentioned his decades-long contribution to cinema. Now, the latest report suggests that Rajpal has been roped in for Salman’s film with Dil Raju.
Rajpal Yadav joins Salman Khan’s next film
According to Bollywood Hungama, the superstar has signed Rajpal Yadav to play a key role in his next film. A source told the portal, “Salman Khan has cast Rajpal Yadav to play a key role in this action-packed entertainer. Rajpal will be playing Salman Khan’s right hand in the film and will share a strong dynamic bond throughout the story. It’s one of the most important characters, and the casting has happened on merit. Salman is very fond of Rajpal and feels that he fits the bill to the T for his particular part.”
The report also says that Rajpal Yadav will start shooting for the untitled film in May this year. The source further added that he is excited to reunite with Salman Khan. The duo has previously worked together on several cult films, including Partner and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. In this project as well, he will be seen in a unique character, with his comic timing expected to leave audiences in splits.
The official announcement is yet to be made by the makers. Recently, Salman shared the exciting update with fans on social media and wrote, “Dil, Dimag, Jigar se from this April with @directorvamshi and #DilRaju.” The film will reportedly go on floors on April 18.

Salman, in his long post, defended Rajpal Yadav, calling out the attempt to reduce his career to a financial controversy. He wrote, “Rajpal bhai aap 30 yrs se kaam kar rahe ho aur hum sabne aapko repeat kiya hai baar baar kyunki aap apna kaam jante ho aur ek value laate ho , kaam toh aapko bohot milega aur issi dollar rate pe milega aur milte rahega. Meanwhile, Salman’s upcoming film Maatrubhumi was slated to release in April 2026. However, the film has been pushed, and the makers are yet to announce the new release date.
