Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for a packed 2026 with an exciting lineup of films spanning comedy, horror, and thrillers. Following Jolly LLB 3, the actor is ready to dive back into his
trademark comic territory with Welcome To The Jungle, the much-anticipated third installment in the Welcome franchise.
Akshay Kumar to Begin Final Schedule in November
According to a source close to the production, Akshay will begin a 15-day shoot schedule in November, focusing on crucial sequences with the ensemble cast. “This schedule will capture key portions featuring Akshay and the principal ensemble. The makers plan to wrap the remaining shoot by early next year as the film targets a mid-2026 theatrical release,” the source revealed to PinkVilla. “A major chunk of the filming has already been completed, and the team is now heading toward the finishing lap,” they added.
A Grand Return to Comedy
Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, Welcome To The Jungle is being billed as one of Bollywood’s biggest comedy spectacles currently in production. The film promises larger-than-life sets, high-energy humor, and the signature chaos that made the Welcome series a fan favorite.
The ensemble cast features an impressive lineup including Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. With Akshay returning to the comedy zone, fans can expect a wild, laughter-filled adventure that aims to revive the golden era of Bollywood comedies.
The Welcome franchise, which first began in 2007 with Anees Bazmee’s Welcome and followed with Welcome Back in 2015, remains a cult favorite for its over-the-top humor and memorable characters. Despite facing multiple delays since its announcement in 2023, Welcome To The Jungle continues to generate immense anticipation among fans.
Akshay’s 2026 Line-Up: From Horror-Comedy to Thrillers
Beyond Welcome To The Jungle, Akshay Kumar has an equally exciting slate of films lined up. He will next be seen in Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, marking their reunion after 14 years. The duo, who last worked together on De Dana Dan (2009), are reportedly recreating their classic comedic magic with a supernatural twist.
Adding to the buzz, Akshay will also headline Haiwaan, another Priyadarshan directorial that reunites him with Saif Ali Khan after nearly two decades. The thriller is said to be a Hindi remake of the acclaimed Malayalam hit Oppam, promising a mix of suspense, emotion, and powerful performances.
With Welcome To The Jungle, Bhooth Bangla, and Haiwaan on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for Akshay Kumar, reaffirming his reign as one of Bollywood’s most versatile and bankable stars.
