Why The Power Cuts Are Happening
Officials said the maintenance drive is part of pre-summer preparedness to strengthen the electricity infrastructure across the city. The work includes increasing transformer capacity, replacing damaged insulators, and trimming tree branches that interfere with overhead power lines. These measures are aimed at preventing unexpected outages during peak summer demand.
Residents, commercial establishments, and especially hospitals and offices in the affected zones have been advised to make alternative arrangements in advance. Authorities added that if the maintenance work is completed earlier than scheduled, power supply may be restored before the announced time slots.
