In a shocking incident from Mumbai’s Kala Chowki area, a man allegedly attacked his girlfriend with a knife following a breakup and later took his own life by slitting his throat.
The incident left the
woman seriously injured, and she is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The accused, identified as Sonu Barai, attacked Manisha Yadav almost two weeks after the duo broke up.
According to officials, Barai suspected that Yadav was involved with someone else, which led to frequent quarrels between the two. Eventually, the couple decided to end their relationship.
On Friday morning, Barai called his ex-girlfriend to meet him but arrived armed with a kitchen knife.
When Yadav showed up, Barai attacked her, stabbing her two to three times. The injured woman tried to escape and rushed into a nearby nursing home for safety. However, Barai followed her inside and assaulted her again with the knife, the official added.
Others present there tried to intervene but could not do much as Barai was angry and armed. Just then, someone threw a stone at Barai, which made him realise that he won’t be able to escape, according to the official.
Barai slit his throat and died at the spot due to excessive blood loss.
