India have named a 16-man squad for the five-match series that gets underway from October 29 in Canberra. Seven members of this squad, including Gill, are already in Australia as part of the touring party for the three ODIs.

This will be the first time that India and Australia will lock horns in T20Is since their Super 8 meeting of last year’s World Cup in the Americas. Back then, India registered a 24-run win en route to their title-winning run.
Earlier this year, Suryakumar had overseen India’s victorious campaign at the Asia Cup in UAE as they won the tournament unbeaten. Eyes will be on the team’s newest batting star, Abhishek Sharma, whose player-of-the-tournament award-winning show at the Asia Cup has only raised expectations.
Also in focus will be pace spearhead Bumrah, who was rested from the ODI leg of the tour.
Sanju Samson, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jitesh Sharma, and Rinku Singh are also part of the T20I series.
