Meloni Becomes Italy’s Longest-Serving Postwar PM
Giorgia Meloni has secured a rare place in Italy’s political history, with her government completing 1,413 uninterrupted days in power and becoming the country’s longest-lasting government of the republican era, excluding Benito Mussolini’s dictatorship.
The achievement stands out in a nation where governments have typically struggled to survive for long, with administrations averaging roughly 14 months since the end of World War II.

Modi-Meloni ‘Melodi’ Connection
Prime Minister Modi and his Italian counterpart Meloni had last met on June 16 on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, where their warm exchange once again sparked attention online.
The two leaders greeted each other during the family photograph, with Meloni telling PM Modi, “Nice to see you again.” She also joked that they had become the most famous leaders on Instagram.

The interaction came shortly after a video of PM Modi gifting Meloni a packet of Parle’s Melody chocolate during his visit to Italy went viral.
Shared by Meloni on Instagram with the caption, “Thank you for the gift”, the clip showed the two leaders holding the popular toffee and went on to clock 276 million views and 13.2 million likes.
The moment also revived the “Melodi” trend on social media, a blend of PM Modi and Meloni’s names that has become popular whenever the two leaders are seen together in public.
