According to fresh reports, the political drama will feature cameo appearances by some of the industry’s most celebrated directors who has also worked with him.
Pinkvilla quoted Valai Pechu report, “Jana Nayagan is expected to include cameo appearances by directors Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Atlee. The directors are speculated to appear as journalists in the film.” All three of the filmmakers have worked with Thalapathy Vijay. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had made the movies Master (2021) and Leo (2023) with him, while Atlee helmed the films Theri (2016) and Bigil (2019). Nelson Dilipkumar and Thalapathy Vijay collaborated on the movie Beast (2022).

In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Pooja got candid about working with Vijay. Looking back on her last shot with Thalapathy Vijay, who is quitting the world of cinema to enter politics full-time, Pooja shared, “I am excited for the film releasing in January,” and added, “It is Vijay sir’s last film.”
“Honestly, I was just sad. Working with Vijay sir is the most relaxing experience. He is so cool and a totally chill person. I think in his mind, he knows he is a superstar, and he doesn’t feel the need to prove that because he is so comfortable with himself. He’s the sweetest co-star to work with,” she further expressed. Pooja mentioned that he has different ambitions. “He has bigger dreams and different dreams in mind, and he needs to follow that,” she said and added, “He’s still one of those people I meet up with, and he’s always very sweet.”
In a recent interview with Faridoon Shahryar on YouTube, the Animal star opened up about his experience working in South Indian cinema, his admiration for Vijay, and his earlier collaborations with regional stars.
“I am doing a film with Vijay Thalapathy. It is gonna be released on Pongal. It’s his last film because he’s going to join politics — that is what he is saying,” Bobby shared.
