Heavy rain across Bengaluru on Monday caused severe waterlogging, traffic congestion and disruption in flight operations across the city. Airport operations were affected as rain and thunderstorms reduced
visibility and slowed air traffic movement. Passengers were advised to check flight status before leaving for the airport and keep extra travel time in hand due to waterlogging and heavy traffic on city roads.
Amid the worsening weather, IndiGo issued a travel advisory warning passengers about possible delays in arrivals and departures at Bengaluru airport.
“Bad weather over Bengaluru has impacted flight schedules. We are closely monitoring the weather and doing our best to get you where you need to be, safely and smoothly,” the airline said in a statement.
One moment it was summer in Bengaluru. The next moment — strong winds, umbrellas giving up, roads filling with rainwater & vehicles turning headlights on in the middle of the day. Bengaluru weather never misses a plot twist. pic.twitter.com/jrfHf05fW7

Several areas reported flood-like conditions after intense showers, with visuals on social media showing submerged roads, stranded vehicles and slow-moving traffic in multiple parts of the city. Many residents who had stepped out during the pleasant morning weather later found it difficult to return home as rain continued to intensify through the evening.
Waterlogging at the Sivananda Circle underpass added to the chaos, resulting in long queues of vehicles on the flyover connecting Old Race Course Road and Seshadripuram, while traffic movement slowed significantly across surrounding areas.
A large number of cars and buses remained stuck in traffic while many bikers stopped along roadsides and under flyovers to take shelter from the rain.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in 12 districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, on Monday.
