Alia Bhatt’s latest release, Alpha, is generating quite the buzz, and adding to it is now her sister-in-law and superstar, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena and Alia share a close bond and often support each
other’s films. As such, Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram to praise Alpha and show her support for the film.
Kareena Kapoor wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Killing it, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Love seeing women front and centre in an action film. Here’s to girl power!” Kareena also sent love to Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and YRF Studios. Have a look here:
Earlier today, Karan Johar also took to his Instagram Story and wrote, “When footfalls are a challenge, Alpha takes a solid start! It emphasises many things… the audience is way above online negativity, and they are the true warriors… the stardom and theatrical pull and unquestionable talent of Alia Bhatt and the impact of a big screen spectacle is unbeatable…”
Karan added, “…And that YRF has a continued franchise and an endeavour to create theatrical tentpole experiences that need our applause and not any toxicity! So please relax and celebrate that cinemas are breathing!! Go watch Alpha and stop doomscrolling!!” Alpha was released on July 3 and has received mixed reactions.
News18 gave Alpha 3.5 stars. Our review read, “There are high-budget combat sequences, elaborate choreography and gravity-defying stunts heavily laced with CGI. And yet, Alpha wins because it’s still rare to see women command action on this scale on the big screen. In a sequence, Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir (in a cameo), alongside Sita and Durga, takes down the bad guys.”
“Alpha may not be the YRF Spy Universe’s strongest or most flawless outing. There are loopholes and the story remains largely predictable. But even with its imperfections, this one is a trailblazer. It sets a powerful precedent for women-led action films in mainstream Hindi cinema, proving that female protagonists can command scale, spectacle and star power just as convincingly as men,” part of our review also read.
