US President Donald Trump was seen with his eyes visibly closed during the NBA Finals in New York on Monday, with video clips circulating online showing him appearing to doze off during the game.
Social
media was quickly flooded with reactions after footage from the luxury box began trending on X.
Many users claimed the president appeared to be asleep, while others mocked the moment and repeated earlier accusations that he has fallen asleep during public events.
“The man sleeps everywhere except his own rallies,” one user wrote, while another said, “This is becoming a pattern now.”
“There is no F—king way Trump is getting out of this one. He falls asleep at the loud and exciting Knicks game, and then jolts awake suddenly. What a low energy, sleepy, old man,” a user wrote.

Some users also questioned his fitness for office, with posts asking whether repeated incidents of him appearing to doze off could indicate underlying health concerns.
The anti-Trump Lincoln Project also joined in, calling the appearance as “the most expensive taxpayer-funded nap” in a post on X, a comment that was widely shared and reposted by users across platforms.
New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reacted to a clip with a blunt “WAKE TF UP.”
