Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s nightmare start to the 2026 season of the money-rich T20 franchise league, IPL, continued as the skipper was removed for yet another single digit score at
home against Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.
Gaikwad was sent back to the hut for 7 off 6 deliveries by Anukul Roy, as his struggles at the crease continued.
Gaikwad managed to post scores of 15 against Delhi Capitals, 7 against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 28 agasint Punjab Kings pvks and 6 versus Rajasthan Royals.
Sanju Samson started the game in style, as he continued from where he left off against Delhi Capitals when the World Cup winner stood unbeaten with a ton, with three successive boundaries to open the game.
Gaikwad was caught in the deep by Roman Powell as the slides skipper had to walk about after having made just a single boundary in addition to his three singles.
