A disturbing video from a private university in Greater Noida has gone viral, exposing a violent “culture of thuggery” masquerading as campus tradition. The footage, which has sparked massive outrage online,
shows a group of senior girls brutally ragging and assaulting a junior student, hurling abuses and questioning her family’s honor while filming the ordeal.
The Incident: Slaps, Slurs And Forced Apologies
The clip, authenticity of which could not be verified by News18, captures a senior girl repeatedly slapping her junior while her peers stand around, egging her on. Despite the victim’s desperate pleas and her repeated refusal to be hit, the assault continues. The seniors are heard forcing the junior to apologize for unknown “offenses,” creating an atmosphere of fear that many netizens claim has nothing to do with education.
One viral post on X summed up the sentiment: “This isn’t education—it’s thuggery. The administration and police must take immediate action, or this culture will ruin the entire campus.”

As the video gained traction, the DCP Greater Noida issued a statement confirming that the Dadri police station had looked into the matter. According to the authorities, the incident took place about 10–12 days ago on a private university campus. “Upon inquiry… it was found that the video is from 10-12 days ago. In connection with this, the university management has constituted a committee and investigation is underway, and necessary disciplinary action is being taken against the concerned individual.”
While the majority of users called for the immediate arrest and suspension of the seniors, a parallel debate emerged regarding the victim’s reaction and the failure of our education system. One user wrote, “This is not ragging, it is outright criminal violence. Strict punishment is prescribed under UGC regulations and BNS. The administration must immediately suspend, the police must register an FIR.”
Another user expressed frustration at the victim’s silence: “She’s really skilled at making videos of the girl being beaten, but she can’t even register a protest… She has hands, she has a mouth—why isn’t she saying anything?”
